GENT
Probably the best known and biggest selling title in this genre, GENT, was first published in September, 1956 as a competitor to PLAYBOY. Early issues were very literary with articles and stories by many of the top authors & writers of the day. Throughout the 50s many top models frequently graced it's pages (including the one and only Bettie Page), and by 1958 a shift in the orientation of the magazine began moving it in the direction it has been following for more than 30 years. By 1968 the transition was complete and since then GENT has been the #1 title for collectors of bosomy babes.
All issues from 1/80 thru 8/85 have a letters/advice column hosted by Uschi Digart w/ at least 1 full pg. photo. In 9/85 Uschi was replaced by Candye Kane who appeared monthly until 4/87 when she was repaced by Toni Kessering, who ran from 5/87 - 6/89 and was in turn replaced by Devon Daniels in 7/89. Many issues from the 80s & 90s contain random full pg. photos (as well as smaller ones) of Uschi, Candy Samples, Kitten and many other favorites. Many of these photos are in ads for movies & other magazines. In addtion, the "Mammary Lane" & "Editor's Notebok" are compilation features w/ single photos of previous models that are loaded with top names.
All issues from 2/80 - 1/81 have a 4 pg B&W cartoon strip "Glen & Carol at Niagara Falls" by Lisa Adams, written by Otis Sweat.
Otis has a 4 pg solo strip in 2/81 titled "Dirty John Lakey"
All issues from 3/81 - 6/87 have 4 pg B&W comic strips by Don Lomax.
