The first issue of Larry Flynt's ground-breaking title was dated July, 1974 and has been published monthy on a continuous basis until the present. All issues thru at least 1998 contain 3 page foldout Centerfolds except for those w/ posters. Giant 8 page detachable posters first appeared in the issue of 7/75 and were in July issues thru 1984 - except 1982 which had the first Sratch & Sniff CF. Posters were also in December issues from 1975 - 1977 and January issues from 1976 - 1980.

A popular and long running feature was the 'Honey Hooker' comic strip drawn by several well known artists. The first appearance was in January 1975 and drawn by Jim McQuade who continued for just over 2 more years. In March 1977 the artwork was turned over to Howard Darden and in June 1977 to Fred Fernandez. In November 1978 Brian Forbes began a 6 month run until being replaced by Tom Garst in May 1979. A few months later in August 1979 Alfredo Alcala assisted Tom Garst (1 issue only) and in Sept. 1979 Daerick Gross did the same. From October 1979 thru January 1984 the strip was done by Tom Garst solo. There was no strip in February 1984 and the March 1984 strip was done by Gaetano Liberatore. There were no others until a final one-shot strip appeared in October 1984 done by Howard Darden.

Another popular and nearly permamnent feature was the 'Beaver Hunt' which featured pics of previously unknown models, wives, girlfriends, etc. The first Beaver Hunt appeared in July 1976 (the 3rd Anniversary issue) and was in every issue thru at least 1998.
