MONSIEUR
The firstissue of this title was dated February, 1957 and although it claimed to be on a bimonthly publication schedule such was not the case. In fact due to numerous changes in the publication frequency, as well as the actual publisher; and without mentioning actual mistakes in the numbering sequence, it is difficult to track the actual history of this title. All issues thru 2/63 were squarebound with glued spines, from 2/65 on a regular stapled spine was used. Most issues feature anonymous photos/pages/pictorials including many familiar faces. This title also contained quite a bit of color for its' time. Early issues have 6 pages of color photos including a 2 page foldout inside the FC. For some reason these pages are not numbered or included in the page count.

v1 #1 issue has Eve Meyer on the inside FC, a nice full page color pin-up of Jayne Mansfield, a 2 pg color photo of Anita Ekberg, 1 full pg B&W pic of Diane Webber and a full pg B&W cartoon by Bill Ward (as McCartney). Plus a bunch of girls who have no names. Have 2 copies, both are fairly bright & glossy, both VG. First copy has some normal wear but no serious defects. Second copy is actually a bit nicer but about 1/2 of spine has disintegrated. Same price, your choice.

v1 #2 is now monthly. Covergirl in bath tub is Tania Velia. Eve Meyer has a gorgeous 2 pg color foldout plus 5 more pgs. Pam Perry is 'Cherie of the Month' with 5 pgs (is Nona Van Tosh??). The covergirl of 7/57 has 4 pgs (anonymously), Trini Reyes has 2 pgs, Lee Wilson has a nice full pg color pic and Joy(ce) Reynolds is on BC. FINE copy is very bright & glossy, lightly read. VG+ copy is bright & glossy, a few minor stresses and a light clean crease on bottom right corner of FC. VG copy is bright & glossy, a bit of spine wear and price stamp on FC.

v1 #3 - Anonymous covergirl had 4 pgs in 6/57. Greta Thyssen has 4 pgs, Sequin (aka Geri Garner) has 2 pgs and Tina Louise has a 2 pg photo. Eve (not Meyer) has 6 pgs and an anonymous model (Nona Van Tosh?) has 6 pgs inc a 2 pg foldout. Feature on Paris Night clubs. FINE copy is bright & glossy, lightly read w/ light vertical stress line about 1/4" in from spine. VG copy has some normal wear - minor stresses and small corner bumps, a small price sticker in upper right corner of FC. Good copy has been fairly well read and handled, normal wear but no serious defects.

Yvonne Menard (star of the Folies Bergere in Pairs) has a great 6 pg feature inc 2 pg color foldout and Jeanette Gray has 4 pgs. Plus a big 8 pg feature on the Lido in Paris and 6 pgs on Texas strip clubs. Also a 6 pg feature on the Italy vs France battle of the bosoms - lots of pics inc 2/3 pg pic each of Gina Lollabrigida & Martine Carol. Bright & glossy w/ clean white cover. A few minor stresses and a straight, clean crease across top right corner of FC - VG++
